KATHMANDU: Hundreds of landless people staged a protest at Maitighar Mandala today, accusing the government of carrying out forced evictions without providing alternative housing.

The demonstrators condemned the use of bulldozers to clear settlements and demanded legal protection for housing and land rights.

Protestors carried placards criticizing the government and political leaders, while warning of nationwide agitation if eviction drives continue.

They urged authorities to prioritize settlement management and rehabilitation instead of displacement.
