Police on Wednesday night arrested a man with eight million rupees without a legal source from Lokanthali, Bhaktapur.

The arrested has been identified as Chitra Bahadur Pun Magar (36) of Galkot Municipality-10 in Baglung district, currently living at Koteshwor of Kathmandu.

A team deputed from the Thimi-based Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC) reached near BP Eye Foundation, Lokanthali after being informed that the Hundi transaction was taking place there and nabbed Magar.

Police seized a scooter (Ba 49 Pa-8565) and three million rupees cash from Chitra Bahadur and additional five million rupees was also impounded while conducting a search at his room, according to the Police Headquarters.

He has been sent to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, Lalitpur, for necessary action, added police.
