KATHMANDU: Police detained two youths today at Maitighar for raising slogans.

Among the demonstrators were those demanding the arrest of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

Dr. Nicholas Bhusal and his group had earlier announced plans to hold a protest at Maitighar.

Political party activists had warned them against proceeding, prompting authorities to deploy a large security presence.

However, Bhusal did not show up at the site.

He had announced via social media that the protest was scheduled for 2 p.m. today.
