KATHMANDU: After numerous young people and students lost their lives across the country during the Gen Z movement, private school organizations and various educational institutions have issued a joint statement announcing two days of mourning.
NMA, APEN, HISAN, National PABSON, and PABSON stated in a Monday press release that schools will remain closed on September 9 and 10 to observe the mourning period.
The joint statement described the student deaths during the movement as extremely tragic and painful, expressing condolences to the departed souls and deep sympathy to their families.
It also conveyed wishes for the speedy recovery of injured students receiving treatment.
The statement read, “This unimaginable incident has shocked not only the education sector but the entire Nepali society. In such a critical situation, all parties need to remain restrained and patient, helping maintain social peace, harmony, and tolerance.”
The joint statement was signed by NMA President Pabitra Limbu, APEN President Badri Dahal, HISSAN Acting President Yubaraj Sharma, National PABSON President Subash Neupane, and PABSON President Krishna Prasad Adhikari.
