Six people were arrested on charge of involvement in gambling offences from Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1 in Bhaktapur. They were nabbed from Janak Bahadur Thapa’s rented room in Lokhanthali.

One of the arrested has been identified as Ramesh Pant, a resident of Ghumlu Rural Municipality-1 in Kavrepalanchowk district while the names of the other five have not been disclosed.

Acting on a tip-off, Thimi-based Metropolitan Police Circle personnel nabbed them. The police also seized Rs 41,360 and three decks of cards from their possession.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
