HUMLA: A dry landslide in Namkha Rural Municipality-6, Tilgaun of Humla district has led to the relocation of 18 families to a safer location.

According to Armed Police Force (APF) DSP and Deputy Spokesperson Shailendra Thapa, the landslide originated from the northern side of Tilgaun, causing damage to the homes of local residents.

The APF Border Outpost in Hilsa has been deployed to the area with necessary disaster relief materials and emergency supplies.

While the cause of the landslide remains unknown, the presence of muddy water along with the debris has raised suspicions of a glacial lake above Tilgaun.

Authorities are currently inspecting the suspected site to confirm the presence of a glacial lake. No human or livestock casualties have been reported so far.
