KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has alerted the public to rising water levels in several rivers across the country due to ongoing rainfall, urging vigilance, especially for residents near riverbanks.
In Bhaktapur, the Hanumante Khola at Kaushaltar Hydrological Station is approaching the alert level, with water levels continuing to rise.
Locals and travelers along the riverbanks have been advised to stay cautious until tomorrow morning.
Similarly, in Rukum Paschim, water levels at Thulo Bheri and Rimna Hydro Stations are also nearing danger marks, with surrounding low-lying areas already experiencing inundation.
The Department has issued warnings for increased preparedness in these regions.
In Myagdi district, the Myagdi Khola and Mangalaghat Hydrological Stations have surpassed alert levels, raising fears of potential landslides due to the steep and fragile terrain.
Issuing a special advisory at midnight, the Department has urged people living in these high-risk zones to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
