KATHMANDU: Ten individuals accused of embezzling government funds by producing fake documents in the name of mountain rescue operations have been released on bail.
All ten had been arrested on different dates following an investigation by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police. They were collectively charged under offenses related to acts against national interest.
The Kathmandu District Court ordered their release on bail amounts ranging from Rs 100,000 to Rs 3 million.
Among those released, Mukti Pandey, Jayaram Rimal, Subas KC, and Rabindra Adhikari were each asked to post bail of Rs 3 million. Bibek Raj Thapaliya was released on a bail of Rs 100,000.
Similarly, Girwan Raj Timilsina, Bibek Pandey, Santosh Adhikari alias Khemraj Adhikari, Pasang Sherpa, and Sandip Tiwari were each released on bail of Rs 500,000.
