SIRAHA: Police have taken eight people under custody after an investigation began into the case of kidnapping and murder of 16-year-old Abhishek Mahato of Golbazar Municipality-13.

According to the District Police Office, eight people including relatives and neighbors of the Mahato, have been taken under custody for questioning.

District Police Office Chief, Superintendent of Police Anantaram Sharma, said Mahato’s body was found this morning, in a mango orchard about 100 meters east of his house with his hands and feet tied.

According to the family, Abhishek had gone missing since around 8:00 pm on Sunday night. On Monday morning, a ransom demand message was received from Abhishek’s mobile phone to his mother’s mobile phone. The family then informed the police.
