KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case at the Special Court against seven individuals, including two former ministers, in connection with the Pokhara Lychee Garden land scam.

According to CIAA, former ministers Rajkumar Gupta and Ranjita Shrestha are among those accused.

The case demands a recovery of Rs 7.8 million from the defendants.

The case has been registered with the Special Court and is currently under review.

The investigation was launched after audio recordings surfaced, allegedly revealing discussions between the two former ministers and middlemen about a bribe deal related to land misappropriation in Pokhara’s Lychee Garden area.
