KATHMANDU: The detention hearing in the case against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) president Rabi Lamichhane, accused of embezzling funds from Sahara Chitwan Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited has concluded.
The detention hearing held in the bench of Judge Dayaram Dhakal in the Chitwan District Court has ended. After the detention hearing, the rebuttal hearing will now take place. After that, an order will be issued in this case.
Lamichhane appeared in court yesterday to give a statement in the Sahara Chitwan Cooperative fraud case. He was handed over to the police after his detention hearing was not completed.
District Attorneys Shambhu Kumar Basnet from Bara district, Bholanath Niraula from Parsa district, and Dasharath Pangeni from Dhading district argued on behalf of the Government Attorney’s Office.
Senior advocates Dinesh Tripathi and Rajkumar Shrestha and advocates Ramchandra Gautam, Sunita Adhikari and Surendra Bhandari argued on behalf of the plaintiffs. Senior advocate Sushil Kumar Pant argued on behalf of the defendant Lamichhane.
