Man arrested in Tulsipur for burning UML party flag

TULSIPUR: Police have arrested a man in Tulsipur on charge of burning a CPN UML party flag. Deputy Superintendent of Police Resham Bohara from the District Police Office informed that 55-year-old Buddhi Bahadur Basnet of Tulsipur-7 was held for torching the party flag.

Three individuals were suspected of involvement in the flag burning. Two of them are still on the run. DSP Bohara mentioned that efforts are underway to nab two others.

Following the reports that Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Ravi Lamichhane and leader Balen Shah were scheduled to attend an event at Ghorahi, their supporters thronged Birendra Chowk in Tulsipur, Dang and torched the UML flag.

Meanwhile, UML staged a protest at Ghorahi later Friday afternoon.
