JHAPA: Police have arrested an individual with a large sum of Indian currency from Jorsimal in Mechinagar-7, Jhapa.
A team from the Armed Police Force Nepal, Proposed Border Security Force Kakadbhitta, intercepted a bus traveling from Kakadbhitta to Biratnagar and found INR 1.499 million during a routine check.
According to Suman Pokharel, Deputy Superintendent at the APF No. 2 Battalion Headquarters in Jhapa, 38-year-old Dambar Bahadur Karki of Urlabari-8, Morang, was taken into custody with the cash.
The Armed Police Force stated that preparations are being made to hand over Karki and the seized money to the Internal Revenue Office in Itahari for further investigation and legal action.
