KATHMANDU: The Inquiry Commission formed to investigate the incidents of September 8 and 9 has stated that there is no need to wait for its report to initiate investigation and action against those involved in criminal offenses.
In a press release issued by Commission member Bijyan Raj Sharma, the commission drew attention to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ statement of September 25, which mentioned that the government would take legal action after receiving the commission’s report and recommendations as per its mandate.
The commission clarified through the statement that its mandate is to collect and analyze information or complaints related to physical and human losses, and to provide necessary recommendations regarding further actions.
The commission was formed to conduct a factual investigation and submit a report on the physical and human damages caused during the Gen Z protests in Kathmandu and other parts of the country.
It has already started its work from September 25.
