JHAPA: Police have nabbed two youths of Chulachuli in Ilam on the charge of involvement in torching and vandalizing the Area Police Office, Damak, during September 8-9 Gen Z protest.
They are Nakul Adhikari, 22, of Chulachuli rural municipality-3 and Riyaz Silwal, 19, of Chulachuli-5. According to the Area Police Office, Damak, they were arrested on Sunday night for the investigation. With this, four persons involved in attacking the Area Police Office were arrested, shared the District Police Office, Jhapa.
Similarly, Sajan Luhagun, 21, of Miklajung-5 in Panchthar, currently living at Damak-5, was arrested two days ago on the charge of vandalizing Area Police Office, Damak.
The Jhapa police started arresting the people involved in violence during the Gen Z protest. Four persons have been held from Damak and six from Birtamod so far and further investigation is underway. The videos and photos of the violence have helped police identify the persons involved in wrongdoing.
Complaints were filed against more than 50 people that they torched and vandalized public and private property in the deadly protest, added police.
