KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has expressed readiness to return to prison.

According to party spokesperson Manish Jha, Acting President Dol Prasad Aryal has discussed Lamichhane’s return with government officials.

Jha stated that Aryal held discussions with the Chief District Officer and the Prison Chief on the matter.

Lamichhane, who was imprisoned in a cooperative fraud case, had been released from Nakhu Jail last Wednesday during the Gen-Z protests.

While protesters had freed him, criticism arose over the incomplete legal process.

Following Lamichhane’s release, thousands of inmates also escaped from prison.

The administration has now issued notices for them to return.
