RSP central member Mohan Thapa arrested in the US

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) central member Mohan Thapa has been arrested in the United State.

RSP leader Manish Jha informed that the party has received information that central member Thapa is in the custody of American immigration.

“We have received information that Mohan Thapa, a central member of the RSP has been detained by American immigration,” Jha said.

“Mohan Thapa had already applied to stay out of the responsibilities of the central member until he had to clarify and resolve some personal legal processes and that he had gone,” Jha said.

Thapa’s name has also been removed from the list of central members from the party’s website. He was arrested at the Philadelphia International Airport in Pennsylvania, USA last week, according to sources. Thapa is currently in federal custody in Philadelphia. He had arrived in the United States via Qatar only last week. He was arrested immediately after arriving in the United States.

Thapa was reportedly arrested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Thapa is a US green card holder. Thapa had been in jail for misuse of his driver’s license a few years ago.
