KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Pradeep Adhikari, the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), along with five others.

Adhikari was taken into custody on Wednesday as part of an investigation into alleged corruption during the construction of the Nalinchowk Heliport, according to CIAA.

The arrested six individuals have been presented before the Special Court.

Court spokesperson Krishna Sharma Lamichhane stated that the commission is currently preparing to file a corruption case against all six individuals and a company suspect.

Lamichhane added that the formal registration of the case is expected to take place today.
