DHANUSHA: Employees working under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of Madhesh Province staged a “pen-down” protest on Tuesday against the killing of Sub-Engineer Pramod Kumar Yadav.

The employees, wearing black armbands, completely halted office operations and demanded a fair and swift investigation into the incident. Sub-Engineer Yadav, who was working at the Infrastructure Development Office in Sarlahi, was shot dead by an unidentified group on Sunday night in Ward No. 10 of Malangwa Municipality.

Following the incident, technical and administrative employees across the province have been agitated. Protesters stated that the attacks on technical personnel serving in public offices have weakened workplace security.

They have also demanded that the government immediately arrest the culprits and take legal action. Various employee unions issued a joint statement urging authorities to take the incident seriously. The statement noted that such violent incidents lower employee morale and directly affect public service delivery.
