KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered Durga Prasai and seven others to remain in custody as legal proceedings continue in connection with the violent pro-monarchy protest held on March 28.
The detention order was issued at midnight on Thursday by Judge Dhruba Raj Karki. It mandates that Prasai and the co-accused be held until the case is resolved.
However, the defendants retain the right to challenge the ruling by filing an appeal at the High Court.
Alongside Prasai, those remanded include Saroj Gautam, Gokarna Shahi, Dandapani Regmi, Sushil Baral, Keshab Basnet, and Kumar Tamang.
