BARA: Two people were killed and three others injured after an attack on a single household in Bara district early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 2:00 AM today in Rahariya Diha village, Ward 1 of Parwanipur Rural Municipality. The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old Rameshwar Mandal and 46-year-old Sumitra Devi, who died on the spot.

According to Area Police Superintendent Narendra Kunwar, both victims sustained fatal knife injuries. Three others, identified as 50-year-old Jagrup Mandal, 23-year-old Manita Devi, and 20-year-old Rina Kumari Mandal, were injured and have been taken to LS Neuro Hospital in Parwanipur for treatment.

Police said an unidentified group entered the house and attacked all family members. The bodies remain at the site as teams from the District Police Office continue their investigation to identify those involved.
