MALTA: Two Nepali women workers in Malta have been convicted of theft.

Sangeeta Ghimire (27) and Meena Karki of Nepal were arrested on September 13 on charges of stealing clothes, cosmetic items, and cash from a hotel room in St. Julian’s.

On Monday, both accused appeared in court and, with the help of an interpreter, admitted to the theft charges.

According to Malta Today, they were sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years.

The stolen items included €350 in cash, which was later found in the hotel’s waste management room.
