 
             
                    					
                KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Friday held a high-level meeting at Singha Durbar to discuss Malaysia’s newly proposed standards for manpower and employment agencies.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal, Law Minister Anil Kumar Sinha, Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal, Labour Secretary Krishnahari Pushkar, and senior officials from the ministries of Labour, Finance, Foreign Affairs, and Law.
According to officials, the 10-point proposal sent by the Malaysian government is only a draft and has not been finalized.
The government decided to pursue bilateral consultations to ensure that any new provisions safeguard the interests of Nepali migrant workers while maintaining transparency and accountability within recruitment agencies.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to work toward a mutually beneficial agreement that guarantees dignified and secure overseas employment for Nepali citizens.
