WASHINGTON DC: Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal held talks with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on the sidelines of the World Bank Group’s annual meeting in the United States.
During the meeting, they discussed Nepal’s recent political developments and economic priorities.
According to the Nepali Embassy in Washington D.C., President Tharman urged Nepal to focus on five key areas to achieve rapid economic growth — human capital, infrastructure, energy, trade, and openness.
Finance Minister Khanal also met with Elena Bourganskaia, Acting Regional Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), to discuss strengthening cooperation and supporting Nepal’s private sector development.
The meeting was attended by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel, officials from the Ministry of Finance, embassy representatives, and IFC delegates.
