SURKHET: Finnish Ambassador to Nepal, Petri Puhakka, visited Mid-Western University in Surkhet on Friday. This marked his first university visit in Nepal since his arrival.
During the visit, Ambassador Puhakka held discussions with university officials and expressed his enthusiasm for future cooperation between the Finnish Embassy and the university.
“We have much progress to make in the field of education. I am very encouraged by this visit and look forward to possible collaboration,” he said.
Mid-Western University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dhruva Gautam said the ambassador’s visit could open new opportunities for academic partnership between Nepal and Finland.
Administrative Officer Sher Bahadur KC noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Finland in 1974, Finland has been a reliable development partner, and the university regards the ambassador’s visit as highly meaningful.
