KATHMANDU: The government of India has donated 81 school buses to educational institutions across 48 districts of Nepal.

The donation covers flood-affected districts such as Ilam, Jhapa, and Udayapur in Koshi Province, as well as remote areas including Humla, Mustang, Sankhuwasabha, Darchula, Baitadi, and Achham, spanning all seven provinces.

This initiative is part of India’s ongoing support for Nepal’s education sector. Over the past 30 years, India has provided a total of 381 school buses to schools in Nepal.

The handover was facilitated through coordination between the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal.
