Japanese Ambassador pays a courtesy call on Finance Minister Khanal

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal held a courtesy meeting with Japan’s Ambassador to Nepal, MAEDA Toru.

During the meeting held at the ministry today, they discussed Nepal’s current political transition, the historic relations between Nepal and Japan, and Japan’s contributions to Nepal’s economic and social development.

In the discussion, Finance Minister Khanal said that the main responsibility of the current government, formed under special circumstances, was to conduct elections within the stipulated time.

He also assured that during this period, efforts for reconstruction and economic and social development would continue.

On the occasion, they also talked about various areas of cooperation, including the under-construction Nagdhunga Tunnel Road Project, the Tanahun Hydropower Project, the upcoming Koteshwar Intersection Improvement Project expected to be signed soon, and the Sindhuli Road Flood-Affected Emergency Rehabilitation Program.

Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay and Joint Secretary of the Foreign Aid Coordination Division, Dhaniram Sharma, were also present at the meeting.
