Korean embassy launches fundraising for Gen Z movement victims

KATHMANDU: The Republic of Korea (South Korea) Embassy in Kathmandu held a solemn memorial on October 11, 2025, honoring those affected by the Gen Z movement of September 08–09. Leading the Korean community in Nepal, the embassy expressed deep condolences for lives lost and injuries suffered, remembering their sacrifices.

The event also launched a fundraising drive to support medical treatment for the injured, with Korean entrepreneurs and community members contributing generously.

Korean cuisine was served to encourage donations. Ambassador Park Tae-yang highlighted Korea’s longstanding friendship with Nepal, pledging support for disaster relief and reconstruction, and applauding Nepali citizens and government for upholding democratic processes.
