BANGKOK: The Nepali Embassy in Bangkok has urged Nepali citizens to obtain a work permit before seeking foreign employment, as required by the government.

The embassy has issued a warning that many Nepalis are being stranded in countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand, which makes their rescue challenging.

To prevent such issues, the embassy emphasized the importance of adhering to the proper procedures before traveling abroad for work.

Recently, with assistance from the Thai government, the embassy successfully rescued two Nepali citizens from Myawaddy, Myanmar, who were involved in online scams. They were repatriated to Nepal on Monday.

Additionally, the embassy cautioned against falling victim to false promises of quick money, urging people to remain vigilant and follow the legal processes for foreign employment.
