KATHMANDU: Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal Dagny Mjøs attended the inauguration of the Markichowk and Mulpani electricity substations in Kathmandu during the visit of Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda to the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Load Dispatch Center.

The inauguration was also attended by Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha.

According to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kathmandu, the substations, supported by the ADB and Norway, are expected to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply in Kathmandu and other major demand centers. The project also aims to support Nepal’s growing energy sector and expand opportunities for regional power trade.

This keeps the diplomatic angle clear by leading with the ambassador’s participation while still explaining the significance of the project.
