KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has directed Nepali ambassadors to coordinate with the international community for the upcoming elections.

In her first virtual meeting with envoys since taking office after the Gen-Z Movement, Karki instructed them to secure international monitoring and support for the polls.

She also called for stronger coordination to boost economic recovery through foreign aid and investment, urging embassies to promote Nepal as a safe destination for business and tourism.

Karki asked missions to improve services for Nepalis abroad, make embassy systems technology-friendly, and prevent visa misuse. She also told diplomats to work on repairing Nepal’s image after several countries imposed visa restrictions following the Gen-Z protests.

The prime minister is scheduled to meet foreign diplomats based in Kathmandu later this week.
