AWAZA (TURKMENISTAN): Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addressed a high-level thematic roundtable session on “Sustainable Infrastructure, Strengthening Connectivity Networks, and Unobstructed Transport Systems for Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs)” held on Thursday in the city of Awaza under the Third United Nations Conference on LLDCs.

In his speech, Prime Minister Oli emphasized that for LLDCs, sustainable infrastructure, efficient connectivity, and barrier-free transport systems are not mere options but vital lifelines.

He urged investments in climate-resilient regional infrastructure to overcome structural challenges, noting that digital technology can create new opportunities.

Oli stated that Nepal prioritizes sustainable infrastructure development, improved connectivity, and seamless transport systems to realize the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.’

He also highlighted Nepal’s efforts to expand economic cooperation and partnerships based on mutual prosperity with neighboring countries and beyond.

Stressing the necessity of unobstructed transport systems for Nepal’s inclusion and competitiveness in international trade, the Prime Minister called for simplification, coordination, and modernization of customs procedures.

Recognizing sustainable infrastructure, strong connectivity, and smooth transport as pillars of economic growth for LLDCs, Oli urged the global community to renew collective commitment to link these countries physically, digitally, and economically with global markets.

Concluding his address, he said, “Let us all come together to build a future where no nation is left behind.”
