KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel left for Qatar on Monday morning, leading the Nepali delegation to the Second World Summit on Social Development being held in Doha from November 4 to 6.
President Paudel is attending the summit at the invitation of Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The three-day global event, organized under a United Nations General Assembly resolution, will bring together heads of state and government, UN officials, and global policymakers to discuss strategies for advancing inclusive social development.
At Tribhuvan International Airport, President Paudel was seen off by Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, the Qatari ambassador to Nepal, senior government officials, and security chiefs.
A contingent of the Nepal Army presented a ceremonial guard of honor to mark his departure.
