KATHMANDU: The Socialist Front has said that the recent understanding between India and China has dealt a serious blow to Nepal’s sovereign rights.

In a press release issued on Friday, the Front expressed grave concern over the agreement between India and China to open the Lipulekh trade route.

The statement reads: “The understanding reached between India and China regarding Lipulekh has inflicted a serious injury on Nepal’s sovereign authority.”

The release was signed by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chair of CPN (Maoist Centre); Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chair of CPN (Unified Socialist); Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, Chair of CPN; and Mahendra Raya Yadav, Chair of Nepal Samajwadi Party.
