KATHMANDU: Three Nepali nationals were among those evacuated from Iran under India’s ongoing evacuation mission, ‘Operation Sindhu.’
According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, three Nepali nationals were flown from Mashhad, Iran, to New Delhi on a special flight that landed at 12:01 AM on June 26.
Alongside the Nepali citizens, 272 Indian nationals were also evacuated on the same flight. This operation is part of India’s broader effort to bring home its citizens from Iran amid the ongoing regional tensions.
With this latest flight, a total of 3,426 Indian nationals have been safely repatriated from Iran under ‘Operation Sindhu.’
