KATHMANDU: The much-awaited Bollywood film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, starring Aamir Khan, is finally confirmed for release in Nepal. Apple Entertainment has acquired the rights to bring the film to the Nepali audience.
“The film’s release in Nepal is confirmed. We are currently in the process of securing censor approval and completing other formalities. The release date will be finalized by this evening,” said Vipasyana Shrestha, Executive Director of Apple Entertainment.
Apple Entertainment plans to announce the official release date as soon as the required procedures are completed. Previously, the film was not brought to Nepal due to its high distribution cost, which deterred local distributors.
The film’s absence had disappointed Nepali fans, many of whom had been pressuring both distributors and cinema halls to ensure its screening.
In India, the film has been performing well commercially, earning ₹66 crore since its release last Friday. Sitaare Zameen Par is the official remake of the 2018 Spanish film ‘Champions’ and features Aamir Khan and Genelia D’Souza in lead roles.
The film is produced under Aamir Khan’s home production banner and directed by RS Prasanna.
