KATHMANDU: Actress Manisha Koirala has joined the Rastriya Swatantra Samajwadi Party’s (RSP) ongoing signature campaign to show public support for party president and former Deputy Prime Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
She visited the RSP office in Banasthali on Thursday to personally sign the petition aimed at demanding justice for Lamichhane, who has been serving jail sentence in a cooperative fraud case.
The signature campaign, organized across Nepal by RSP, seeks to mobilize citizens against what the party describes as government retaliation and persecution of Lamichhane.
Manisha Koirala, speaking after signing the petition, expressed concern over the injustice and mistreatment that Lamichhane is reportedly facing from state authorities.
“I am not affiliated with any political party,” she said, “but as a common citizen, I felt compelled to raise my voice against the injustice happening to Ravi by the state.”
Several other prominent celebrities have also joined the campaign, adding their voices to the growing movement supporting Lamichhane and condemning what they consider to be politically motivated actions against him.
