KATHMANDU: The Nepali social drama Bhagdaud, written and directed by Himal Upreti, was released in theaters on Friday, but with limited screenings across the country.
Produced by Bishwaram Bista, the film features Anisha Shrestha, Ghanshyam Joshi, Sharda Rai, Bishal Pokharel, Shekhar Chapagain, Deshbhakta Khanal, Laxmi Giri, Shankar Maharjan, and Subhash Timilsina. According to the production team, the film portrays various aspects of society.
Bhagdaud has not been screened by QFX Cinemas, the country’s largest multiplex chain, and has received only limited shows at INI Cinemas and other theaters.
The film opened alongside several foreign releases, including the Indian comedy Dhamaal 4, the Hollywood horror film Evil Dead Burn, and the animated feature Moana.
