KATHMANDU: The Central Board of Film Censor Committee has decided to suspend the screening of Koshedhunga, a film directed by Saroj Poudel, citing violations of censorship regulations.

Board member Sampanna Shrestha announced that the decision was made on Tuesday after it was found that the film had violated censorship regulations.

A meeting of the Committee on Wednesday resolved to request the Film Development Board to halt public screenings of Koshedhunga until further notice.

Starring Niti Shah, Surakshya Panta, Reecha Sharma, and Aaryan Sigdel, the film had drawn attention for its ensemble cast and social themes before the screening was suspended.

The Committee asserted that the filmmakers failed to comply with its October 10 directive, which demanded a written explanation within 24 hours.
