MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh’s comedy entertainer Housefull 5 opened to a thunderous response at the box office, collecting an impressive Rs 23 crore nett on its opening day in India, according to early estimates.
Some trade sources even peg the figure slightly higher, at around ₹24 crore, making it the biggest Day 1 opening in the Housefull franchise.
Internationally, the film grossed an estimated Rs11–12 crore on Day 1, taking the global opening day total to approximately Rs 39–40 crore.
The film benefited from strong advance bookings, which contributed ₹3.88 crore to the Day 1 tally. Released in two versions with alternate endings (Housefull 5A and 5B), the film generated significant buzz, helping draw large crowds across multiplexes and single screens alike.
Housefull 5 now ranks as one of the top openings of 2025 for a Hindi film, trailing just behind other major releases like Chhaava and Sikandar.
With Eid festivities and weekend footfalls expected to boost numbers further, trade analysts predict Housefull 5 could cross the ₹100 crore mark globally within its first weekend. Let me know if you’d like full weekend numbers or overseas breakdowns as they come in.
