KATHMANDU: The 14th Nepal-Africa International Film Festival (NAIFF), a three-day event, is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu, Nepal, from January 17 to January 19, 2026.
The festival is jointly organized by the College of Journalism and Mass Communication and Bilakshan Creation, with collaboration from the Film Development Board.
Festival President Dr. Manju Mishra stated that the 15-year-old event aims to foster cultural exchange through cinema, operating under the slogan “Africa through African lens.”
Filmmakers are invited to submit their work in various categories, including Nepali, indigenous, documentary, short, and musical films.
Submissions are being accepted via FilmFreeway.com, the festival’s official site, or the Bilakshan Creation office. The deadline for all submissions is November 15, 2025.
According to Festival Director Dabbu Chhetri, the jury selection process will commence in the last week of November 2025, with the final list of selected films announced in mid-December 2025.
The event will feature the participation of foreign filmmakers and will include awards for film excellence. Additional programming for the festival encompasses a dance workshop, a master class, a Gen Z interaction focused on cinema, and an artist portrait exhibition.
