Music royalty amounting to Rs 3.5 million has been distributed to the composers and creators of various songs. The royalty was distributed to more than 100 creators at a function organized by the Music Royalty Collection Society on Monday.
The society’s general secretary and lyricist B. Pandey informed that the royalty amount received from Ncell network from 2016 to 2019 was distributed through an aggregator called Digitainment.Musicians like, Arjun Pokharel, Rajanraj Sivakoti, Shrikrishna Bam Malla, Ashish Aviral and other musicians also received the royalty amount.
Musician Pokharel received the highest amount of Rs. 588,000 of royalty amount. The organization also plans to distribute the royalty amount received from Facebook as soon as possible. As the income from ‘back ring tones’ has been decreasing recently, the creators have been collecting the royalty received from the office.
