KATHMANDU: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, along with several other Indian celebrities, arrived in New York on Saturday to attend the globally renowned fashion event, the Met Gala. According to international media, Shah Rukh is expected to make his Met Gala debut this year.

Photos and videos of Shah Rukh at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, accompanied by his manager Pooja Dadlani, have gone viral. He was seen wearing a white T-shirt, brown hoodie, and baggy cargo jeans.

It is reported that Shah Rukh may appear in an outfit designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi. If so, he would become the first Indian male actor to attend the Met Gala.

Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh is also expected to participate, while actress Kiara Advani has reportedly arrived in New York. However, Shah Rukh’s official confirmation for the event is still awaited.
This year’s Met Gala, held annually on May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, is themed “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.”

The 2025 dress code is “The Garden of Time.” This year’s co-chairs include singer Pharrell Williams, actor Colman Domingo, F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, rapper A$AP Rocky, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Basketball legend LeBron James will serve as honorary co-chair.

Globally renowned Hollywood stars are expected to attend. Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung is also anticipated to showcase his creations once again this year.
