KATHMANDU: The inaugural edition of Kathmandu Utsav (Festival) is scheduled to take place on Falgun 16 and 17 (February 28 – March 1) at the Nepal Tourism Board hall in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Festival Chairman Prakash Sameer shared that while it is primarily a literary festival, it will also highlight Kathmandu’s culture, civilization, tourism, traditional food, and the lifestyle of ordinary people.

The two-day event will feature 15 sessions.

Kathmandu Festival coordinator and poet-ghazal composer Babu Tripathi informed that the festival will kick off with poetry readings by eight established poets.

Covering topics such as art, literature, culture, tourism, education, youth, knowledge, science, and spirituality, the festival will also host discussion sessions that prioritize the experiences of everyday people.

The festival will begin with poems from veteran poets and conclude with performances by the new generation of poets.

Organizers have also announced that the festival will showcase traditional food, a painting exhibition, and a book stall reflecting the rich civilization of Kathmandu.
