LOS ANGELES: American actor James Ransone, widely known for his role as Ziggy Sobotka in the American crime drama show The Wire, died at the age of 46 on Sunday.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his death was due to suicide.
Born in Baltimore, the primary setting of The Wire, Ransone appeared in 12 episodes of the show’s second season as a dock worker turned drug dealer.
He later featured in films including It Chapter Two and The Black Phone.
Ransone’s most recent appearances were in Poker Face and Black Phone 2 this year.
