KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah performed pilgrimages at the Janaki Temple and other local shrines alongside his family. Arriving in Janakpur on Sunday evening, the former royals were met on Monday by enthusiastic supporters and RPP activists chanting for the restoration of the monarchy.
After offering prayers at the Janaki Temple, Shah walked 0.5 kilometers to the Ram Temple and the nearby Kaladevi Temple to conduct further rituals. Local youth groups organized a reception for him at the site. The visit has significantly energized royalist groups in the region.
