KATHMANDU: With just seven days remaining to register names in the voter list for the House of Representatives election scheduled on March 5 next year, there has been enthusiastic public participation at the District Election Office in Kathmandu.

Although there was a brief crowd due to some server issues, participants reported that registering names did not take much time and the process was hassle-free.

First-time voter Ankit Baral expressed happiness at being able to register in the voter list. He said that, being part of Generation Z, he believes the upcoming leadership should be young and that he is now ready to cast his vote.

Despite the server problems, Baral mentioned that he did not have to wait long in line.

Srijana Rayamajhi, the office’s information officer, stated that the server issues arose due to increased traffic, as voter registration is being conducted simultaneously from all 77 districts.
