Nepali Congress ‘pledge assembly’ in pictures

DHANUSHA: The Nepali Congress held a ‘Pledge Assembly’ in Janakpur on Wednesday.

The party’s President Gagan Kumar Thapa, Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma, Bimalendra Nidhi, and other top central-level leaders participated in the event.

The party also unveiled its election manifesto at the same program, which has been named the “Pledge Document.”

Earlier, the party’s Central Working Committee unanimously endorsed the Pledge Document. A virtual meeting of the Central Working Committee approved the document to be made public for the upcoming election slated for March 5.

The Nepali Congress has described the Pledge Assembly, held in the sacred land of Madhesh and the historic and cultural city of Janakpur, as not just a political event but a historic occasion to convey a message of Madhesh’s dignity, inclusive democracy, and national unity.

According to Madhesh Province Nepali Congress President Krishna Prasad Yadav, in the political journey following the Madhesh Movement, the Nepali Congress has embraced the issues of identity, rights, proportional inclusion, and empowerment of the people of Madhesh as its core agenda.
