The smart lockdown imposed due to COVID infection in Kathmandu Valley has been completely lifted. The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, issued a statement on Friday stating that the ban has been lifted completely. There was a partial smart lockdown from 9 February. Due to the pandemic, the Thamel area was silent but from the smart lockdown lifted many tourists have started to come around Thamel.
