LALITPUR: The second Statute General Convention of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) commonly know as CPN (UML) has officially begun today.

The convention’s primary slogan is: “Building a decisive national force, a prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali is the national UML plan.”

The event was inaugurated by the party’s chairman and Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli at the Sunrise Convention Hall in Lalitpur.

Volunteers are managing and facilitating the delegates, observers, and other participants from the main Godawari road to the convention hall’s entrance.

The hall itself is arranged with a large digital board in front of 18 chairs for officials.

The stage is decorated with both party and national flags. Small digital boards in the Tundal architectural style have been placed on both sides of the stage.

On the left side of the stage, photos of Pushpa Lal, Manmohan Adhikari, and Madan Bhandari have been placed, while photos of Marx, Engels, and Lenin are on the right.

According to the UML’s Publicity and Publication Department, a total of 2,341 people are participating in the convention, including 2,026 delegates and 315 organizers.

A political report, various other documents, and a proposal for a statute amendment are scheduled to be presented today.
